1. Tour Update (10/5)

Tour booking is coming along, slowly but surely. It’s been a tough balancing act between learning Pro Tools to make the new recordings come alive and sorting out venues in a month that’s not apparently great to be touring. Currently listening to Frank Turner and Billy Bragg in the studio to remind me why I try and spend all my spare time doing this.

  4. latest from london

tumblr_lp7qr3HqOn1qcs4zto1_500If I could write a status about the end of a year’s musical hiatus… It’d sound like the yawn to the first line of that Clint Eastwood verse.

(… the first single I ever bought)

Seven months ago, at the community youth club I run, I challenged the kids to come up with some New Year’s Resolutions. One kid said he wanted to do better at school and help his mum more, whilst one of our leaders said he wanted to read a book a week. As I challenged the team to give theirs too, I thought about what I’d love to do.

  5. summer holidays

I don’t normally like to take a break from music, but the last 2 months have been crazy and it’s been worth it. Between getting married, moving house and starting a new job, everything dancrook.com took a back seat. Anyway, I’m alive and am still keen to tour the world. Just thought I’d reassure you all.

  6. smashing good time

Twas a scorcher of a day down in Old Leigh and was grand to play to a good sized crowd. Having lost the setlist just before we went on, I decided to get the order written on my back, giving Mike the job of telling both me and Tim what song was coming up next. This unfortunately didn’t stop Mike from forgetting a new song that had been sounding great in rehearsal. Classic. We finished the set with a track called ‘Father’ that a good friend of ours wrote. This was an impromptu decision, made when we realised we had an extra 10 minutes (wonder why Mike…)

  7. Rock The Boat Festival

    Dear Friends

Excited to announce that I will be playing Rock The Boat Festival in Old Leigh on the 21st July. It will be a full band affair and we’ll be playing a 45 minute set on the main stage at 5pm.

There’s a whole host of local talent playing all day on both the 21st and 22nd.

    More details to follow

  8. thank you

Thanks to all that came down to one of my shows on the Jubilee Weekender.

    I salute you

  9. ‘this train is bound for glory’

Playing solo tonight at The Railway Hotel at 8pm, and then with new band Raiding Party. It’s gonna be absolutely banging to be fair.

Got some more gigs to announce soon too, including a festival or two. Also been practicing a fair bit with a pretty darn good drummer- will be exciting to have him join me.

On a slightly different note, I’m a very happy Hammer.  Didn’t really deserve it over 90 minutes but feel like we did enough over the season. Bring on the Tottenham derby next year!

Excited to say that my next show will be at The Railway Hotel on 20th May. I’ll be playing solo before playing a set with a new band I’ve been playing with called Raiding Party. The kind people down at the venue have made it free entry and given it to us pretty last minute.

Last played this place back in 2007 which was Cat’s first show on the drums. O and I’m hoping to be at Wembley the day before.
